On The Clock: Picks 19 – 20

My mock draft continues today with the last of the teams to not make the playoffs. On the clock are picks 19 – 20. To recap:

1. Carolina – Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
2. Denver – DaQuan Bowers, DE, Clemson
3. Buffalo – Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri
4. Cincinnati – Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
5. Arizona – Von Miller, LB, Texas A&M
6. Cleveland – AJ Green, WR, Georgia
7. San Francisco – Robert Quinn, DE/LB, UNC
8. Tennessee – Nick Fairly, DT, Auburn
9. Dallas – Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama
10. Washington – Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
11. Houston – Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska
12. Minnesota – Cameron Jordan, DE, California
13. Detroit – Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
14. St. Louis – JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin
15. Miami – Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama
16. Jacksonville – Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue
17. New England – Mike Pouncey, G/C, Florida
18. San Diego – Nate Solder, OT, Colorado

With the nineteenth pick in the NFL draft, the New York Giants select: Tyron Smith, OT, USC. The Giants need to get younger on their offensive line, and Smith is regarded as one of the top tackles in the draft. Injury concerns make him slide in my mock, but not past the Giants.

With the twentieth pick in the NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select: Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa. The Bucs addressed the DT spot in last year’s draft, but they could still use a pass rusher on the outside. Clayborn has some character concerns, but his ability to get after the QB makes him attractive in this spot.
