I Hope He’s Wrong

Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer inherited the Bengals’ No. 4 pick in the NFL.com beat writers mock draft. Reedy selected Georgia receiver A.J. Green for Cincinnati.

Hopefully, the same thing doesn’t happen when it really counts. Green has the size and speed to be an effective receiver in the NFL, but I’m not sure he’s the best fit for the Bengals. Without a legitimate quarterback, Cincinnati needs to follow the lead of the Baltimore Ravens in the pre-Joe Flacco era. Win with defense. Run the ball. Dominate the trenches.

With that in mind, there are several players who would be better selections in this year’s draft. I like the idea of LSU’s Patrick Peterson playing safety in Cincinnati. I’d be okay with any of the top-rated defensive linemen. And I’d take Texas A&M Von Miller if he’s the best available at that point. In sh0rt, there are a lot of players I’d rather have at No. 4.

I hope Joe Reedy’s wrong.
