Dumb and Dumber Schedule Prediction

The NFL labor situation is unsettled. Cincinnati’s quarterback is uncertain And the team’s newest draft pick is unsigned. So you’d have to be a complete idiot to try to predict the team’s finish in 2011.

Luckily, I’m the man for the job.

I think Carson Palmer would be worth about 3 or 4 more wins if he returns for this season, but I’m making my projection based on him being absent and the starting quarterback being an unknown.

With that in mind, here’s how the Bengals will finish in 2011. I think.

Schedule provided by Bengals.com

Projected Finish: 6-10. And I hope I’m wrong.

I’m giving the team a fast start at 3-1 (wins against Cleveland, San Francisco, and Buffalo) that fizzles after that. The schedule is easy enough that the Bengals could sneak into the playoffs if Palmer or a proven veteran would play for the Bengals. But it’s entirely possible Cincinnati will face a full season with an unproven quarterback under center. Gulp.
