Per our source in the Bengals organization, the Bengals may be looking to add a veteran quarterback to the roster. Our guess based on the information we have is that the Bengals are looking for someone with NFL experience to back up Dalton. Our source passes this along:
“More vince young talk today around the office, if he is officially released and passes all physicals”
So there it is, the Bengals are looking to pursue Vince Young as a Bengal. Not sure my feelings on this one. I think that if they get him cheap, it is not bad to have a vet behind Dalton. However, does Young want to be a starter and will this make waves in the locker room? The Bengals absolutely do not need more waves.
If this is legit, it might be one of the worst ideas ever. Forever ever (thanks, Outcast). I don’t see VY content to be anything but a sure-fire starter. He could become toxic very quickly in the locker room. I think he could win some games somewhere, but I hope that place isn’t here.
