Wow, it is just like the GridIron Challenge all over again. For those of you that didn’t know, the challenge was where I got to play flag football with the Bengals. Our QB was supposed to be Thomas Howard and for unknown reasons he was replaced with Vontaze Burfict.
Fast forward to week two of the season and because of an ACL tear suffered by Thomas Howard, Burfict will once again be the man stepping up according to his twitter and ESPN’s Alyssa Roenigk
With starting outside LB Thomas Howard out with an ACL tear,
@king55tez is the new starter in Cincy. Quite a climb after quite a draft dive.
First of all, this sucks losing Howard for the season. The linebacker play of the Bengals did not impress anyone on Monday night and now it just got much thinner. On Thursday Howard suffered a knee injury and the Bengals quickly picked up Roddrick Muckelroy who was cut in the final round of cuts this preseason.
Burfict is a guy with a ton of upside. Lets hope he brings some of that fire to the middle line of the Bengals defense and holds the spot for a long time.
