Per PFT, here are today’s inactives for today’s titanic playoff clash at Heinz Field:
Bengals: CB Dre Kirkpatrick, K Mike Nugent, RB Daniel Herron, TERichard Quinn, S George Iloka, DT Brandon Thompson, DT Devon Still
Steelers: CB Ike Taylor, QB Byron Leftwich, CB Justin King, LB Adrian Robinson, DE Al Woods, OT Mike Adams, WR Plaxico Burress.
The Bengals are going with Josh Brown as place kicker–a good call considering that Mike Nugent is still working his way back from the calf injury and Brown has been stellar so far. Boom Herron is down, and Cedric Peerman is up. Having Peerman back should help both the running game and special teams. First round pick Dre Kirkpatrick is down again still recovering from the concussion suffered in the San Diego game. The others, TE Quinn, S Iloka, and DT’s Thompson and Still were expected.
One notable name missing from the list is Adam Jones, who was listed as questionable with a hamstring injury. His availability is good news both for the secondary and special teams, where his return game will be helpful.
As for the Steelers, the best news for Cincinnati is the confirmation that Ike Taylor is down, meaning Keenan Lewis and Cortez Allen will draw coverage on A.J. Green and Marvin Jones. Newly-signed DB Justin King is also down, so the Steelers are thin in the defensive backfield. OT Mike Adams was also questionable and down, which likewise hurts their thin offensive line.
T-minus 30 minutes, Bengal Nation. Let’s go!
