Super Bowl: Sunday Feb 3 6:30pm The SuperBowl this year (also known as the Harbaugh Bowl) is this Sunday. I believe there are reasons that as a Bengal fan you could root for or against either team. Usually, because the Bengals are not in the big game, I root for a good game. However, I [...]

This is a position that must be addressed high in the draft. Excessive pressure is being put on Andy Dalton because the running game is often stagnant. The Bengals looked their best in the 3-games stretch where BJGE had consecutive 100-yard games. That needs to be the rule, not the noteworthy occurrence.

Sometimes in sports, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. I would say that was the case with the Bengals’ corners this year. Largely a group of cast-offs from other teams, the team ended up ranked 7th in passing defense for the season. Who would have guessed that to start the season?

The trend toward receiving tight ends not only makes game sense, it also makes business sense. TEs cost half (or less) of what WRs cost. When a team can get a guy who is a physical mismatch at half the price of play-making WR, what’s not to like about the guy?

It’s one year later, and the question remains the same: who is the #2 receiver? That fact that we could list at least three names is evidence that there still isn’t one. This isn’t the only question facing the offense this off-season, but failing to find a good answer will continue the inconsistency in the [...]

This is the first in a series of articles looking through each of the position groups with an eye toward free agency. And why not begin with one of the lightning rods for this team?
