So some national guy who gets to skim some stats on all 32 NFL teams decides to list the order in which he sees the teams ranking before any real football is played.
Yeah, seems legit.
Power rankings are not new. They are incredibly popular for a few reasons.
- So Cleveland can see if anyone on the planet thinks other teams are worse than they are.
- So Pittsburgh fans can cry if they are not ranked in the top two every season.
- So most sane football fans can sigh and say “Whatever”
Power rankings are popular, this is why so many sites have them weekly. They have zero bearing on anything other than getting people riled up and clicks for advertisers.
So we are not going to throw power rankings at you. I may at times sell you a post around why I think the Bengals are better than another team, but won’t try and tell you that they fall in 11th place of 32 for a bunch of non-measurable reasons.
