QB Camp Reaction

I caught the Ryan Mallet and Cam Newton episodes of Jon Gruden’s QB Camp yesterday and a couple things stood out. Here are my thoughts. Launch special: Buy one post for $1, get the rest free. First up is Mallet. If someone was coaching the kid on how to respond to Gruden, they get [...]

Draft Profile: Colin Kaepernick

CBS Sports Player Card Position:  Quarterback Size:  6’5″ – 233 pounds What I like: Kaepernick has great size and athleticism (4.53 yards in the 40-yard dash) and an outstanding arm as well. He was a promising baseball pitcher with a fastball around 90 mph before he decided to focus on football. Believe it or [...]

With the NFL and the NFLPA agreeing to a week long extension of the labor talks and the Scouting Combine just completed, it seemed like an opportune time to put together a mock draft. I enlisted one of the most knowledgeable NFL fans I know, big Al, to help me work through the picks. Today, [...]

Bengals Best Bet May Not Be Quarterback

After a so-so workout for Cam Newton Sunday at the NFL Scouting Combine, and other quarterbacks showing elite speed, it appears that the Bengals may be better off seeking a quarterback later in the April 28th – 30th draft. Cam Newton turned in the 3rd best 40 yard dash time among quarterbacks.

Cam Newton Tailor Made for Old Spice Commercials

Can’t you just picture Cam Newton saying “look at your quarterback, now back to me, now back at your quarterback, now back to me!” Cam Newton is ready to take on the NFL, but is the NFL ready for Cam? Sports Illustrated reporter Peter King tweeted that Cam Newton told him in a phone interview [...]
