Draft Strategy: Running Backs

teo-lacy

Another position headed for an overhaul is the running backs. Only BJGE and Dan Herron are signed with them team past March 11. With the rest as free agents, now is a perfect time to reshape a position that has been a significant culprit in the under-performing offense.

Focus On: Running Backs

BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Bart Scott

This is a position that must be addressed high in the draft. Excessive pressure is being put on Andy Dalton because the running game is often stagnant. The Bengals looked their best in the 3-games stretch where BJGE had consecutive 100-yard games. That needs to be the rule, not the noteworthy occurrence.

WDW Episode 91 – The Grass Isn’t Always Greener

post

It only took one pass play for the tone to be set Sunday. Palmer’s first dropback, BOOM, Geno Atkins threw him to the ground. At that point we ALL knew what kind of day it was going to be for Mr. Quitter himself. Speaking of quitting, did you see that Palmer’s Raider teammate Rolando McClain [...]

Well who saw that coming? We sure didn’t. 13 points against the Dolphins is all the Bengals could muster up? Andy Dalton looked flat, the receivers looked flat, the running game looked, well, non-existent. Hopefully the Bengals get their act together and there’s no better medicine than playing the Cleveland Browns. Don’t forget to nominate [...]

It wasn’t pretty during some points but the Bengals beat the Jaguars on their home field for the second time in two years 27-10 on Sunday. The offense and defense both came out flat to start the game. The sign of a good team is how you’re able to overcome poor starts and this Bengals [...]

WDW Episode 78 – Gotta Love the Internet

post

The Bengals lost more than just a game last week vs the Packers as it looks like starting center Kyle Cook is going to miss some extended time. Another big blow to an offensive line already without one starter. The Bengals wrap up their preseason this Thursday night in Indianapolis against Andrew Luck and the [...]

Benson’s Suspension Dropped To One Game

Benson will sit against Seattle.

Lost a bit in the shuffle of today’s super awesome, terrific, fantastic and NOT surprising news about Carson Palmer (totally called it!  Score!), is this little nugget on PFT.com: The NFL has reduced the suspension of Bengals running back Cedric Benson to one game.  He’ll miss the teams post-bye trip to Seattle. Benson will miss the Seahawks game, [...]

The 2011 Bengals: HB

Now that we are past the NFL draft, I can take an early assessment of where we are as a team before the end of the lockout and eventual start of free agency. Today, I will look at the halfback position.
