Georgia wide receiver AJ Green was the name called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell when the Bengals pick was announced Thursday night. After Cam Newton went first overall to the Carolina Panthers, most Bengals fans let out a sigh of relief that the talented and enigmatic signal caller would be someone else’s problem.

Bengals Best Bet May Not Be Quarterback

After a so-so workout for Cam Newton Sunday at the NFL Scouting Combine, and other quarterbacks showing elite speed, it appears that the Bengals may be better off seeking a quarterback later in the April 28th – 30th draft. Cam Newton turned in the 3rd best 40 yard dash time among quarterbacks.
